Introduction
Sharding-Sphere is an open-source ecosystem consisted of a set of distributed database middleware solution, including three individual products, Sharding-JDBC, Sharding-Proxy and Sharding-Sidecar (planning). They all provide functions of standard data sharding, distributed transaction and data orchestration, applicable in a variety of situations such as Java isomorphism, heterogeneous language, container and native cloud.
Since February this year, there have been four versions of Sharding-Sphere released from 3.0.0.M1 to 3.0.0.M4. During the past eight months, Sharding-Sphere has reappeared in a new name, replaced its operation by the community, recruited new members of the team, listened to the voice of the community, iterated to develop new functions and refactored to stabilize its old modules. Finally, we have witnessed another rebirth of it earlier this day!

2018.2
Sharding-Sphere team was formed and upgraded, and began the development of Sharding-Proxy.
2018.5
The official rename of Sharding-JDBC as Sharding-Sphere, along with the new official website online, indicated its new era to come.
Sharding-Sphere contributed all its copyright to the community: shardingsphere.io, and continued the use of Apache 2.0.
2018.6
Sharding-Sphere established a partner relationship with Apache ServiceComb and began an overall plan of distributed transactions.
Sharding-Sphere established a partner relationship with Bestpay of China Telecom to build a new future.
2018.8
Sharding-Proxy was applied in JD’s production environment and withstood the test of massive online production data.
Sharding-Sphere 3.0.0.M2 was released, with an upgraded database orchestration module to provide more stable functions.
2018.9.
Sharding-Sphere 3.0.0.M3 was released to provide support for XA distributed transactions.
Sharding-Sphere 3.0.0.M4 was released, with an improved automatic execution engine, the support for multiple schema structure database and an enhanced tracing function.
2018.10
Official Sharding-Sphere 3.0.0 version was released.
Look back the past eight months’ course, the accumulation and development along the way make us have confidence to say goodbye to official 2.0.0 version and welcome official 3.0.0 version. Those who still use 2.0.3 version, welcome on board to use totally new and stable 3.0.0 version!
